Meet Dr. Fujawa

Dr. Doug Fujawa was raised in the small town of Schoolcraft, Michigan. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Hope College, located in Holland, Michigan.

While in high school and college, Dr. Doug devoted much of his time mentoring and advocating for children and adults with special healthcare needs. It was through these interactions that Dr. Doug understood he wished to make this population the focus of his career.

Education & Experience

He then attended the University of Michigan where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, Dr. Doug remained at the University of Michigan to complete a two-and-a-half-year residency, earning a Master of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry for his research relating to restorative materials used in pediatric dentistry.

Pediatric Dentistry & Board Certification

Following residency, Dr. Doug was recruited to stay at his residency program as an Attending Pediatric Dentist at Mott Children's Health Center in Flint, Michigan caring for children in need. Dr. Doug has completed the qualifications necessary to earn Board Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of the Office

When he isn't at the office, Dr. Doug enjoys golfing, traveling, cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and helping coach youth sports in South Walton. Dr Doug also has experience as a foster parent and continues to advocate for this vulnerable population.

Dr Doug currently resides in the South Walton County area with his wife Lindsay, also a pediatric dentist, their son Charlie, and two dogs Rosie and Daisy. Dr Doug looks forward to making your child's visit to the dentist stress free, engaging, and FUN!
